2008 - Extended Range Diving Courses

Two Extended Range Diver (ERD) courses are to be run for the North East in 2008. The courses will be limited to 12 places, but if there is sufficient interest, additional courses can be arranged.

Course 1 - Theory/practical 2 days Wast Water YHA 19/20th April followed by Practical exams on 10/11th May


Course 2 - Theory/practical 2 days Wast Water YHA 27/28th September followed by Practical exams on 18/19th October.

On the practical exam half the students will dive on Saturday & half on Sunday. Diving will be conducted at a depth around 40m, with extensive drills on a trapeze and if possible a second shallower dive each day if conditions, gas and students allow.

The gap between two weekends is to allow/encourage students to practice drills and modify/purchase kit as required following the first weekend.

Course requirements :
Minimum advanced nitrox diver qualification.
Must have access to twinset diving cylinders
Must carry a separate cylinder for staged decompression
Must carry a delayed surface marker buoy

Cost :
£175.00 for the full course
£50.00 deposit [deducted from the full price] sent to Neil Richmond, cheques made payable to 'Divewise' to secure a place. Balance payable on the first day of the course. Contact Neil Richmond (North East Skills Development Course Organiser) to ensure spaces still available.
