13th DURHAM Conference
Divewise, the North East annual diving conference is again to be held in Durham University on March 8th 2009. There are always lots of great speakers; this year's programme includes Ben Panter who will be discussing the exciting world of Ice Diving. There will also be presentations from The Whale and Dolphin Society and Marine Bomb Disposal Experts The Northern Diving Group. We are also delighted to confirm the BS-AC NDC Incidents Advisor Brian Cumming who will present the 2008 Incident Report. First presented at the Diving Officers Conference in December Brian sussessfully blends the serious aspects of 2008 diving incidents with a look at some of the lighter lessons to be learned. During the Interval, Regional Team members will be holding various workshops such as Kit Configuration so you can pick up tips and ask the experts in a relaxed and informal forum.
As always there will be some great prizes available to win - last years prizes included an otter drysuit , a buddy commando stab jacket, a regulator set , a Severn class lifeboat (model) , dive bags, dive clothing, Weezle undersuits and lots of other goodies. We also have trade stands for you to browse around and there are always lots of people willing to talk about diving if you just want some help or advice. We hope to see you there.
